Starting from January 1 until July 1, 2026, citizens of 113 countries holding a valid national passport and a physical (plastic card or passport sticker) Civil ID (residence card), which is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, issued by

  • GCC member states (including Kuwait), or

  • the European Union, or

  • Schengen Area countries, or

  • the United States of America

may enter the Republic of Armenia without a visa and stay in the Republic of Armenia for up to 180 days from the date of their entry.

  1. To citizens of which countries does this decision apply?
    Answer: The decision applies to citizens of 113 countries, including, among others: Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, the Philippines, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Canada, Pakistan, and other countries listed on the MFA of Armenia website.

  2. In which physical form must the residence card be submitted?
    Answer: Only physical residence cards are accepted (plastic card or passport sticker). The residence card may be recognized if it contains, in Latin script, the title of the document, the foreign national’s given name, surname, nationality, date of birth, and document validity period, indicated according to the Gregorian calendar (e.g., 18.06.2028 or 18 JUN 2028).
    Mobile ID (Hawiyati), electronic, scanned, copied (even in color) cards, applications, and pictures are not accepted.

  3. What if the residence card is valid for less than 6 months?
    Answer: Nationals of the listed countries whose residence card is valid for less than six months from the date of entry into the Republic of Armenia must obtain a visa.
    The visa may be obtained either electronically or through the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, depending on the applicant’s country of citizenship.

  4. If my valid physical residence card has less than six months of validity remaining, but I am a citizen of a country eligible for a visa on arrival to the Republic of Armenia (e.g., Egypt, Iraq, the Philippines, India, etc.), what is the minimum validity period required for entry into Armenia?
    Answer: Citizens of the above-mentioned countries, as well as a number of other states, may obtain a Republic of Armenia entry visa upon arrival. In such cases, the entry visa must be valid for at least one day at the time of entry.

  5. How is the validity of a residence card calculated?
    Answer: A physical residence card must be valid for at least six months at the time of entry into the Republic of Armenia. The calculation principle is as follows: if the validity of your physical residence card expires, for example, on 1 December 2026, you may enter the Republic of Armenia up to and including 1 June 2026.

  6. Which countries’ citizens are exempt from the entry visa requirement to the Republic of Armenia?
    Answer: The following nationals are exempt from the Republic of Armenia entry visa requirement, Nationals of these countries can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia for up to 180 days within a one-year period. The complete list of countries is available at the following link:

  1. Is this decision applicable to holders of travel documents (“laissez-passer”)?
    Answer: The decision does not cover holders of travel documents or “laissez-passer.” However, individuals possessing such documents are advised to send an inquiry to the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia via email at: embassy.kuwait@mfa.am.
    Additionally, holders of Kuwaiti and Jordanian travel documents may obtain a visa upon arrival at the state border of the Republic of Armenia.

  2. Does this decision apply to minors under the age of 18?
    Answer: The provisions of this decision are applicable to minors as well.

  3. Are there any exceptions under this decision for individuals of Armenian origin who hold the citizenship of another country?
    Answer: The above is applied equally to individuals of Armenian origin who are citizens of the countries listed in the decision.
