Starting July 1 until December 31, 2025, the Government of Armenia has introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of 116 countries holding a national passport and physical (PLASTIC OR STICKER) residency card valid for at least six months from the date of entry, issued by GCC member states (including Kuwait), the European Union, Schengen Area countries, or the United States of America (based on Government Decision of Armenia No. 610-Ն, dated May 22, 2025).
Visitors can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia for up to 180 days within a one-year period.

Additionally, nationals of the following countries and entities listed below are exempt from the requirement to obtain a visa for entry into the Republic of Armenia:

  • All GCC member countries (Kuwait included)

  • United States of America

  • European Union countries

  • Schengen Area countries

  • Other countries

Nationals of these countries can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia for up to 180 days within a one-year period.

Important Notice for Travelers:
Passengers departing for the Republic of Armenia are strongly advised to arrive at Kuwait International Airport no later than 3 hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

Direct flights from Kuwait to Armenia with Jazeera Airways are operating from July 8, three times a week, with a flight time of approximately two hours.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. To citizens of which countries does the decision of the Government of Armenia apply?
Answer: The decision applies to citizens of countries that have established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Armenia.
Among them are: Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, the Philippines, the State of Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Canada, as well as more than 100 other states.

2. What is the procedure in cases where the residence card is valid for less than six months?
Answer: Nationals of the listed countries whose residence card is valid for less than six months from the date of entry into the Republic of Armenia are subject to the visa requirement.
The visa may be obtained either electronically or through the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Armenia, depending on the applicant’s country of citizenship.

3. In which physical form must the residence card be submitted?
Answer: The residence card must be presented strictly either in the form of a physical (plastic) card or as a sticker placed in the passport.
The residence card may be recognized if it contains, in Latin script, the title of the document, the foreign national’s given name, surname, nationality, as well as date of birth and document validity period, indicated according to the Gregorian calendar (e.g., 18.06.2028 or 18 JUN 2028).
Mobile ID, electronic, scanned, copied (even color) cards, applications, etc., are not accepted.

4. Is this decision applicable to holders of travel documents (“laissez-passer”)?
Answer: The decision does not cover holders of travel documents or “laissez-passer.” However, individuals possessing such documents are advised to send an inquiry to the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia via email at: embassy.kuwait@mfa.am
Additionally, holders of Kuwaiti travel documents may obtain a visa upon arrival at the state border of the Republic of Armenia.

5. Does this decision apply to minors under the age of 18?
Answer: The provisions of this decision are applicable to minors as well.

6. Are there any exceptions for individuals of Armenian origin who hold the citizenship of another country?
Answer: Government Decision No. 610-Ն of May 22, 2025, applies equally to individuals of Armenian origin who are citizens of the countries listed in the decision.
